Patients with allergic skin diseases are seen by many different specialists including allergists, paediatricians, general practitioners and dermatologists. Often the main task is to establish first the presence of an allergic component in the skin disease and then to evaluate the role of this sensitization for the disease. In many cases, collaboration between clinicians from different specialities increase the value for the patient, and therefore the scope of SAM 2010 is to give the participants an up-to-date knowledge on the skin diseases, where allergy may play a role - together with information on current treatment options, strategies and differential diagnoses. A further scope is to present diseases mimicking allergic conditions such as hereditary angioedema and mastectomies. The headline for SAM 2010 is “for clinicians, by clinicians” meaning that the focus will be directed to the clinical situation. Therefore, presentations of clinical cases by participants and hands-on sessions have been included together with the lectures. Any specialist or specialist in training working in the field(s) of allergy or dermatology will benefit from participating in SAM 2010. We cordially invite you to this important meeting taking place in the beautiful city of Venice.
